Julian Assange- Shoot the messenger!

Today when I saw Times of India ( India's leading newspaper, I was intrigued by the double standards of America. On the one hand it shows the friendly gesture, on the other it stabs. Here I am referring the remarks made by Hilary Clinton.

Before moving further I wants to thank Mr. Assange. Without his leadership and effort it would not have been be possible. I have done extensive research on him and seen all the major available videos, interviews and the press conferences of him.

In the old time as and when the king does not like message they use to order the killing of Messenger. The unfolding of the events are quite similar to that experience. As the leaks have exposed the true policies, the politicians started to develop a plot against him and Hilary is leading the peck.

It is quite premature to comment on future of Jullian Assange but I hope quite hopeful about the future. I am sure in the future there will be many more Jullian Assange and the politicians simply can't face those. Recently the other German guy from his team who left Wikileaks is planning to start a similar haven for whistle blowers.

The thing is this now the entire battle field is different. Earlier channels of mass media were in the hand of few and were controlled by the politicians to their advantage. But aftermath of Internet spread it is being highly decentralised. Increasingly, especially in the west it is the only media going to be the one where to disseminate your views.

If we see this event, within a fraction of second just after release people start twittering, sending message on the facebook. Do think it will not influence the mindset of the voters? One must have lost senses if he think it won't.

Facebook have over 500 million users, more than the population of US. Nearly all US citizen age group below 35 are the users of facebook which is indeed a major chunk.

As Thomas Friedman has said- world is flat... it is indeed becoming flat. Thin line between the hierarchies are diminishing.

Just like everything this will also pass on to the other countries and will see a great improvement in the governmet's accountability.
